# FLIGHT SEARCH MCP FOR VS CODE

Add a flight search MCP server to VS Code. GitHub Copilot agent mode can then search ~300 airlines, read fare rules, and create a checkout link from the chat panel.

# connect in vs code

One click

Add to VS Code (one click) →

Or from the terminal

code --add-mcp '{"name":"flightclaw","type":"http","url":"https://mcp.flightclaw.com/mcp"}'
click to copy · then sign in with your email and the 6-digit code

Or in .vscode/mcp.json

{ "servers": { "flightclaw": { "type": "http", "url": "https://mcp.flightclaw.com/mcp" } } }
click to copy · this shares the server with everyone who opens the workspace

Then open Copilot Chat, switch to Agent mode, and check that the flightclaw tools are on in the tools picker. No API key. VS Code opens a browser for the email-code sign-in (OAuth) the first time.

# FAQ

How do I add an MCP server to VS Code?

Use the one-click link, run code --add-mcp, or add the server to .vscode/mcp.json under servers.

Does VS Code support remote MCP servers with OAuth?

Yes. For an HTTP server that needs sign-in, VS Code opens a browser for the authorization the first time it connects.

Which Copilot mode uses MCP tools?

Agent mode. Switch Copilot Chat to Agent and turn on the flightclaw tools in the tools picker.

Should I use the user or the workspace config?

The one-click link and code --add-mcp add flightclaw for you only. Put it in .vscode/mcp.json only if your whole team wants it in that repo. Each person still signs in with their own email.

Does it work in Cursor too?

Yes. See the Cursor setup.
